Incorporating vintage camp gear and imagery from the 1940's and 50's, "Adventure Awaits" evokes the rustic, outdoor aesthetic of a bygone era. Designed by Irvine, CA based design duo Rise Wise (Jun & Adriana), this bandana was inspired in part by Jun's memories of family camping trips in Voyageurs National Park (along the Canadian border in northern Minnesota). As he explained, "All of the camping is on islands and is very remote. I caught the biggest northern pike of my life, and we woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of a wolf pack howling on a nearby island. It was incredible. I’ll never forget it."

As evidenced in "Adventure Awaits" and throughout their work, Rise Wise are inspired by commercial designs ranging from the 1920's through the 1960's along with "old timey stuff from my grandfather’s stash." These touchpoints have helped Rise Wise to develop a unique vintage aesthetic, and a style that feels familiar yet firmly at the forefront of contemporary design.

RISE WISE

Rise Wise are an Irvine, California based design team (Jun & Adriana) that got their start individually designing for local music labels. About 3 years ago they teamed up to start creating work that was more fun and more in line with both of their personal styles. Inspired by the vintage aesthetic and commercial designs ranging from the 1920's through the 1960's, Rise Wise has carved out an impressive niche as one of the most in-demand brand designers in Southern California. Their incredible vintage-inspired branding work has helped to build identity for companies like Lowell Herb Co., Deus Ex Machina, Palm Coffee Roasters, Amber Fort Bedding, Parks Project, and STAG Provisions. We at BANDITS are huge fans of Rise Wise, and we're thrilled to work with them on our second bandana design together ("Pioneertown Motel")

CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE CENTER

California Wildlife Center takes responsibility for the protection of native wildlife through rehabilitation, education, and conservation. It is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of native California species, who otherwise would be left to suffer from the effects of human encroachment, habitat destruction and environmental damage.

Their core work is the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife, supported by state-of-the-art animal care and rehabilitation facilities, a cadre of professionally-trained staff, dedicated volunteers and an engaged community.

In explaining why they chose to support CA Wildlife Center, Rise Wise told us "The significance of wildlife to society is a big deal. It keeps everything moving the way it should be. The functioning of the biosphere depends on the interactions among its animals, plants, and microorganisms. The health of nature and wildlife can help human’s life expectancy be higher."
